Therefore Linden Labs (the company behind Second Life) charges each month a maintenance fee or tier fee to keep the island online. The tier fee you pay at Count Burks Estates is exactly the same as the tier fee you would pay to Linden Labs if you would own a parcel of land on the mainland continent. Count Burks Estates pays Linden Labs each month to keep the island online, this means that each resident needs to contribute in the tier fees. Tier fees aren't rent or hidden charges, as a owner you participate in the costs depending on the volume of land you own on the sim. Tier fees can be paid in Lindens directly to Count Burks or by Paypal in US Dollars as you prefer. You can subscribe to pay your fees by Paypal by selecting the payment button that matches with the amount of land you own. Please fill in your Second Life avatar name in the box above the payment button so that we know which land owner paid us. You can unsubscribe from this automatic payment process at any time you wish or when you sell your land at the estate.
